Italian Under-21 keeper Mattia Perin would be happy to remain at Genoa next season regardless of whether that is still in Serie A or not, according to his agent

Matthew Rogge insisted that the 20-year-old,  who has progressed through the Grifone youth system, has always dreamed of representing the side regularly and is ready to replace current number one Sebastien Frey.

Currently on loan at bottom side Pescara, Perin has made 24 appearances for the Delfini, despite ceding his position to Ivan Pelizzoli in recent times.

Rogge regards this as the natural progression for a young keeper and claims there is no problem between them.

“To play for the Grifone is a dream for Mattia.” Rogge told Sportal.it.

“Genoa is a great place regardless of league and he would be ready to replace Frey. In any case, I hope that the Rossoblu are saved.”

“Matt has had a shoulder problem so Pelizzoli has been called into the team and done very well. This is the typical dynamics of football at any level.”

“Mattia remains calm and continues to train with maximum effort and has a great friendship with Pelizzoli.”
