In the wake of Inter’s 4-3 defeat at home to Atalanta, striker Tommaso Rocchi questioned the need for additional officials during games.

La Dea were awarded a dubious penalty while he also feels that he should have won a penalty that was not given although did not hide from the fact that his side should have did much better.

“Football is decided by situations in games and there were many doubtful ones tonight,” he said afterwards. “We should have done better at 3-1 and not let three goals in and we should have paid more attention.

“But there were situations when I was in and Scaloni and Stendardo pulled mine and Ranocchia’s shirt and I want to know what the additional referee does! It it supposed to be to create more collaboration with referees but this is still missing and it is clear that we were punished.”

The former Lazio man also spoke of his happiness at finally opening his Inter account and scoring his first goal in 14 months of football.

“It was a liberation to score and important for me because I hadn’t scored for a long time and have had a tough season,” Rocchi continued. “I haven’t been good enough but I was charged and wanted to do well tonight and I scored.

“It made me very happy and when you score here at San Siro it is always nice because you hear the roar of the crowd in a special way.”
