Sampdoria coach Delio Rossi made no excuses following his side’s defeat on Sunday and took full responsibility for what happened.

Samp lost 3-1 at home to Palermo, who hadn’t won a match on the road all season before the weekend.

“We got it all wrong tactically, physically and mentally today,” Rossi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It’s difficult to judge our performance, however, this is a blow quite different from that suffered with Inter. Today we were really bad, and I’m sorry for what happened because this is not the true Samp.

“I don’t think we were distracted by the derby and I’m not worried about it yet, but we should’ve won this afternoon.”

Sampdoria are 13th in the Serie A table, nine points above the relegation zone with seven games to go.
