Sampdoria defender Daniele Gastaldello spoke about former teammate Antonio Cassano’s tenure at the Ligurian based side.

Samp host Cassano’s current club Inter on Wednesday with the forward set to play against his old team.

“Antonio gave so much to Sampdoria, even if he did make a few mistakes,” Gastaldello told Sky Sport Italia.

“The best memory was when we qualified for the Champions League having reached fourth place. That will be a lasting memory for everyone.

“The worst memory was when he argued with the president [Riccardo Garrone].

“If he’s booed [by the home fans] then it’s out of fear because he’s such a strong player.”

Cassano, 30, has scored seven goals in 25 games for the Nerazzurri in Serie A this season.
