Juventus took on AC Milan in the big clash of the Serie A weekend, but the game didn’t live up to the pre-match hype and was decided by an Arturo Vidal penalty kick.
Meanwhile, the Rossoneri’s rivals for the third, and last, Champions League spot, Fiorentina, played out a thrilling match against Torino, which included a number of spectacular goals.
There was controversy of sorts in Napoli’s late win over Cagliari with the referee in the spotlight once again, and in the relegation battle Siena slipped up, but Palermo and Genoa were unable to take full advantage of Chievo’s gift.
Elsewhere, Inter managed to get a much needed victory over Parma at the San Siro, Roma only managed to draw with lowly Pescara and Udinese continued their late bid for European football next season.
