Italian football authorities have been unable to agree on a kick-off time for the Coppa Italia final that will see city rivals Lazio and Roma do battle at the Olimpico on May 26.

Ever since Mattia Destro’s two goal display lead Roma to a 3-2 victory over Inter on Wednesday night, discussion has centred on the kick-off time for a final that will generate passionate displays from both sets of supporters.

The issue has been complicated by the fact that local elections are also being held on the same day.

The last Derby della Capitale, held on April 8, saw clashes between supporters and police resulting in local authorities insisting that the Derby would never again be played in the evening.

With Roma, Lazio, local authorities, Serie A and the Italian Olympic Committee failing to reach an agreement on Thursday, it is expected that an announcement will be made early next week regarding the kick-off time.
