Zenit St. Petersburg defender Domenico Criscito has rubbished reports linking him with a move to AC Milan but insists he wants to return to Italy.

The former Juventus and Genoa full-back is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury but insists a return to the peninsula is on his mind.

“I keep a close eye on Serie A,” Criscito said in an interview with calciomercato.it.

“I do miss Italy and, sooner or later, I do hope to play football in my country again. Although I don’t know when.”

The 26 year-old was linked with a possible move to the Diavolo before his knee injury earlier this year.

“I don’t know anything about Milan’s interest in me,” he continued. “For now, I’m just concentrating on recovering from injury and getting back into action.”

Criscito was part of Italy’s Euro 2012 squad but withdrew after he came under investigation for match-fixing.
