AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino is looking more and more likely to leave the San Siro this summer, and is expected to join Napoli.

The Italian has been a target for the Partenopei for some time, and was close to sealing a move to the Naples club last January. However, he nixed the deal at the last moment preferring to stay with the Rossoneri.

It looks like he is now ready to make the move to Napoli as his playing time at Milan and fan support has decreased.

The midfielder was in outstanding form a season ago after a €500,000 move from Palermo. Nocerino has played 22 times for Milan, scoring twice in that time; however, many have been highly critical of the Italian this term and have labeled him a flop in 2012/13.

Though Napoli are leading the race to sign Nocerino, Roma are also expected to inquire about the player’s availability.

While Nocerino has faded with Milan this season, midfielder Mathieu Flamini has had a mini-renaissance in the last month. The Frenchman has scored in three consecutive games for the Rossoneri and is in hopes of being offered a new contract for next season.

Flamini was only brought back to the club last summer, because he agreed to lower his wages. It is believed he may get another contract with Milan if he can continue his current form for the remainder of the season. However, Milan may allow the player to leave to make room for a midfielder with more goal scoring capabilities.

Flamini has played 18 times for Milan this season, notching three goals. If he does leave the San Siro, a return to the English Premier League is expected of the 29-year-old.
