Cagliari fell to a 1-0 loss to Parma on a heavy field in Trieste in Serie A action on Wednesday night.

A late goal from Aleandro Rosi was enough to secure all three points for the Crociati in rather difficult conditions.

In form Marco Parolo, who claimed a goal last weekend, had the first chance of the game after 16 minutes when he volleyed towards goal from an Amauri cross but Michael Agazzi tipped away.

It was all Parma early on as another cross from the right caused problems and this time Ishak Belfodil controlled well but his effort ended up narrowly wide of the post.

The ‘home’ side then began to find a little more space of their own and tried to find the opener when Daniele Dessena’s clever pass found Thiago Ribeiro on the left but his shot across goal was covered by Antonio Mirante.

He was on hand again shortly afterwards to deny a Nene free kick at the second attempt as the Rossoblu began to probe ever more.

There were not a great deal of chances after the break as the Ducali took the initiative once more and only the timely intervention from Nene on the line prevented a Belfodil header from giving them the lead following a corner.

Controversy then reigned at the Nereo Rocco when Massimo Gobbi crossed and Amauri headed home but the goal was ruled out for an apparent foul on Mirante as they competed for the ball.

The game swept to the other end as the Isolani pushed for a winner and Radja Nainggolan fizzed a deflected effort wide of the upright.

After going back to the opposite end once more, Parma took the lead with 10 minutes remaining when Aleandro Rosi pounced after Mirante could only parry a Gabriel Paletta header and gave his side the lead.
