Gennaro Gattuso - Paris Saint GermainFormer AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso is set to become the Palermo coach by the end of the weekend according to reports in Italy.

The 35-year-old, who is still contracted to Swiss club Sion as a player, has been selected by Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini to lead the club as they head into Serie B.

With Giuseppe Sannino all but certain to leave the Sicilian club for a job in the top flight, Zamparini believes is the perfect candidate to lead the club back into the Serie A.

Stadionews24 believe that an agreement will be reached over the course of the weekend, with Gattuso expected to sign a one-year deal with an option for a second.
