AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has been speaking in support of coach Massimiliano Allegri, stating that he had always believed that the Italian would turn around the clubs slow start to the season.

On stage at the Premio Gentleman awards Tuttomercatoweb.com reported that the Rossoneri chief has no intention of letting the 45-year-old leave the San Siro this summer.

At the beginning of their Serie A campaign this season Milan won just twice during their opening eight matches and looking at a difficult season ahead, however, Allegri has helped turn that early form around.

“I believe in the work of our coach.” said Galliani.

“This year we have come a long way [from near the relegation zone to reach third in Serie A].

“We had eight points after eight games, but I sensed that we could do it.”

When questioned on the possibility of a new stadium for the Milan club, Galliani proposed buying their existing Giuseppe Meazza home, if city neighbours Inter were to vacate.

“I believe we could buy the San Siro,” said Galliani.

“If Inter decide to go away, at that point there would just be us.”
