Napoli target former Liverpool coach if AC Milan boss is unavailable

Aurelio De Laurentiis has narrowed down the replacements for the departing Walter Mazzarri down to two candidates.

Walter Mazzarri announced that he is no longer going to be in charge of the Vesuviani next season leaving De Laurentiis with a decision to make.

The favorite for the position is Rafael Benitex, who has reportedly been in contact with Napoli for the last couple of weeks negotiating a contract.

However, the president is waiting to see if Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri becomes available before making his decision.

The Rossoneri coach is discussing his job with Milan management in the coming days and could be a free agent.
