Fabrizio Miccoli is being investigated by Palermo prosecutors after purchasing SIM cards and later giving one of themto the son of a Mafia boss.

The Palermo captain, along with the manager of a TIM store, are alleged to have distributed four SIM cards that were registered to other people.

One of these cards was given to Mauro Lauricella, the son of alleged mafia boss Antonino Lauricella who was been on the run since September 2011.

The prosecutors are looking into the possibility that the Palermo player gave the SIM cards away with the authority to collect some outstanding credits he had.
