Catania midfielder Sergio Almiron has signed a contract extension that will see the Argentinian remain with the Elefanti until 2014.
The former Juventus and Bari player has been with the Sicilian outfit since 2011 and has established himself as a key piece to Rolando Maran’s midfield.
“I am really happy to stay here and I want to thank Catania,” he told the club’s official website.
“I hope that next season will be better for me on a personal level, and also for the club.
“We want to try and do better as a team and grow together to reach new heights.”
Almiron had been linked with a move to Torino in recent weeks. He made 30 Serie A appearances for Catania last season, helping them to an impressive 8th place finish.
