Lazio v Roma - Coppa Italia - AndreazzoliDeposed Roma coach Aurelio Andreazzoli is to remain on the Lupi’s staff as Rudi Garcia adjusts to his position as coach of the capital club.

Having been with the club since re-joining two years ago and enjoying spells not just as coach, but as assistant and also caretaker during his time in the capital, Andreazzoli is part of the furniture at the Giallorossi.

Sky Sport Italia report that the 59-year-old, who took over as first team coach after Zdenek Zeman left the club, will remain at Trigoria to help Garcia’s transition as the former Lille man begins his stint in control of Roma.

Andreazzoli’s time as Roma coach came to an end in the summer after he guided La Maggica to a sixth placed finish and to the Coppa Italia final, in which his team lost to city rivals Lazio. He first came to the Stadio Olimpico in 2005, joining from Udinese as assistant to Luciano Spalletti, and was recalled two years after both he and Spalletti left the club.

Garcia is the sixth Giallorossi coach in three years, as president James Pellotta looks to recapture the Scudetto for the first time since 2001. He helped Lille win Ligue 1 in 2011, but has seen the club from northern France fall away since that triumph.
