Bologna striker Robert Acquafresca has been linked with a move to Premier League side Sunderland.
The Black Cats have been looking for a serious boost in goals with only one of their registered strikers scoring a league goal last season and it appears 25 year-old Italian may solve the goal drought.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sunderland are interested in signing the former Italian u21 international, preferably on a loan deal with the option to make it permanent.
Acquafresca scored only three goals in 23 games for Levante and Bologna respectively last season.
