Confederations Cup Podcast: What a load of Bonucci!

  2. Azzurri

The Italian Football FanCast is the podcast for fans of Calcio and the Italian National Team.

Joining host Stefano Merco on today’s show is Adriano Boin and Enzo Misuraca and Peter Galindo, as well as, Editor of Forza Italian Football, Dov Schiavone.

The Azzurri came up against Spain in the Confederations Cup semi final and were a spot kick away from a date with Brazil in the final.

But, it wasn’t to be as Leonardo Bonucci blasted his penalty into the stands which allowed Jesus Navas to win it for the Spaniards, which he did.

Despite the doom and gloom of defeat, the Azzurri can take hope from the match as they were much the better side over the course of 90 minutes and could have won it if Emanuele Giaccherini had aimed a shot two inches to the right of an upright.

Nevertheless, Cesare Prandelli’s men do have a third place playoff to contend with against Uruguay on Sunday.
