Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has praised Italy’s performance against his side in the Confederations Cup.
The World and European champions overcame the Azzurri 7-6 in sudden death penalty shoot-out, after their semi-final ended 0-0.
“Cesare Prandelli deserves special credit for speeding up their [Italy] play down the wings,” he told the press.
“Over the course of the match things balanced out and Italy looked increasingly tired, which allowed us to come out.”
Spain will now face Brazil in the final on Sunday, while the Azzurri will face Uruguay the same day in the third-place play-off.
