Damiano TommasiSky Sport Italia could be about to revolutionise football coverage by implementing mini cameras on players shirts. Although, presently the concept is only in its infancy.

With demands for goal line technology and video refereeing never far from fans debates, it is perhaps only a matter of time before things like cameras attached the shirts become the norm in football.

The players Association chief, Damiano Tommasi, spoke of the idea as “bringing the fans the sensation of being increasingly inside the match.”

The former Roma player also speculated that should these tiny cameras include a microphone, it could help with disciplinary matters.

Tommasi however, admitted that the logistics still need to be worked out; “Besides, I also think we need to consider how this fits into the rules of the game.”
