Marrone - ItalyLuca Marrone may be out of the rest of the U-21 European Championship after he suffered a relapse of an old injury against England on Wednesday.

Italy won the match 1-0 thanks to a wonderful free-kick from Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne but the victory was spoiled by news that Juventus midfielder Marrone could miss the rest of the tournament with a strain in his right hamstring.

The 23-year old is one of the over-age players selected for the squad and has had previous muscle problems this season.  It is not yet clear how long Marrone will be out of action but the tournament in Israel ends on June 18.

Marrone has struggled to break into the Bianconeri’s first team, making just 15 appearances this season.  Rumours have suggested he may be used in a part exchange deal for a number of Juventus’ summer transfer targets.
