Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is currently in Brazil to tie down deals for Atletico Mineiro’s Rever and Santos’ Felipe Anderson.
Anderson is an attacking midfielder while Rever is a central defender.
The Biancocelesti were close to signing Anderson in January but the move fell through after a faxed legal document failed to arrive before the transfer window slammed shut.
La Stampa reports that Tare will kick start talks with Atletico Mineiro for the sale of 28-year-old defender Rever, whose only previous experience in Europe came during a short stint with German side Wolfsburg in 2010.
The Brazilian’s contract expires in 2014, a fact that could help Lazio lower the Miniero’s valuation of the player.
