lorenzo insigne devis mangiaDevis Mangia praised his players for their performance despite seeing his Italy side lose to Spain by a score of 4-2 in the final of the U21 European Championships.

The Azzurrini could do little to stop Thiago Alcantara who bagged a hat-trick for La Roja, but Mangia believes his side have a lot to be proud despite coming up short in the final.

“These players did some amazing things and their efforts should be recognized,” he told RAI after the match.

“Their only flaw today was their inexperience but it is not their fault. With regards to their colleagues they will find that in the future.

“Regardless, I must thank my players because I don’t know how many teams would have tried to stay in the match until the end.

“We have important qualities with regards to our morale, along with technical and tactical abilities that were there for everyone to see.

“We had a great chance to make it 2-1 and it would have been a different match after that.
