Marchisio - JuventusJuventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio is pondering his future with the club and wants to know if he’s still an important asset to them.

There have been rumours linking the 27-year-old to €30 million transfers with Manchester United and Monaco, but the player wants to know where Juve stand on the subject before he starts thinking of other clubs.

Marchisio spoke to reporters in Brazil and admitted that while he’s concerned about his future with the Bianconeri, he’s focused on performing well for Italy in the upcoming Confederations Cup.

“I will have to talk to Juventus. I want to see if I’m still important for them,” he said.

“If not, then it is only normal for me to look at other teams. It has been said that my intentions are decisive, but it takes two to tango.

“Eventual offers from Manchester United or Monaco make me proud, but nobody has called me. Now I am focusing on the Confederations Cup and after that I’ll understand what’s real and what isn’t.”

The Italian then spoke about his role in Cesare Prandelli’s Azzurri squad and insisted that Confederations Cup success is important to the team.

“Cesare Prandelli’s philosophy remains the same, so whether I play a few metres further in front or behind makes little difference. I am accustomed to changing position and the coaches I work with know my versatility.

“The Confederations Cup is a dress rehearsal for the World Cup, but it remains a very important tournament. We must follow up the excellent Euro 2012 performance, while we are also testing ourselves in the climate we’ll see next year.”

The midfielder also addressed Italy’s last two poor international performances and kept a positive outlook on what may come in their opening tournament match against Mexico on June 16.

“The last two games against the Czech Republic and Haiti were unsatisfactory, but we remember before Euro 2012 we had similar fitness problems and they disappeared on our debut.”
