Juan Fernando QuinteroGenoa have bought 50% of Pescara youngster Juan Fernando Quintero’s contract in a co-ownership deal, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The Colombian will join the Grifone ahead of next season for  €5 million and the Ligurian side will have an option to buy the creative player’s contract outright in 2014.

Quintero represents a real coup for Genoa as the nearly relegated team have beaten the likes of Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain to the player’s signature.

He received rave reviews for the Delfini last term despite only playing 17 times tallying one goal. However, the player is seen as an exciting prospect after he rocketed through the ranks of football in his home country of Colombia.

Quintero joined Pescara at the beginning of the 2012/13 season after only a short time at his previous club Atletico Nacional in Colombia.
