Vladimir Weiss - SlovakiaPescara’s midfielder Vladimir Weiss has joined Greek champions Olympiacos.

The deal to sign 23-year-old Slovakian was unveiled by the Piraeus-based club on Friday afternoon.

“I am really happy to be here”, Weiss said to Olympiacos.org.

“I know Olympiacos; it is a great club, they have big ambitions and I hope I can help the side and the manager to fulfill them”

Following the Delfini’s relegation the former Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers man had been rumoured to be interesting a number of Italian sides.

It emerged that the Greek side, who won their 40th league title last season, had fought off interest from Torino, Genoa and Bologna, who were all looking to sign the versatile youngster.

Bratislava-born midfielder or forward Weiss joined Pescara from the Citizens in August 2012 and made twenty-two appearances for the Biancazzurri, scoring four goals. He has also had experience playing in Spain, with Espanyol, and Scotland, with Glasgow Rangers, with whom he won a league title.
