Angelo PalomboSampdoria’s long-serving midfielder Angelo Palombo has described his response to the transfer activity at his current employers and elsewhere.

The 31-year-old spoke of his happiness at Gianluca Sansone being signed outright from Sassuolo and the return of Mirko Eramo and Vasco Regini to the Marassi following their co-ownership and loan deals with Crotone and Empoli respectavily.

In comments made to Il Secolo XIX, the Italy international was less sure of Simone Zaza’s future at Sampdoria with the 21-year-old reportedly receiving interest from Juventus and Napoli after his successful loan spell with Ascoli.

“About [Simone] Zaza I know less,” said Palombo.

The tenacious midfielder also speculated about the future of team-mate Andrea Poli who has been linked to a move to AC Milan.

“Like Simone [Zaza] he could stay, both still have contracts with us.”

Palombo also spoke to Il Secolo XIX about the trio of strikers linked with a move to Samp: Manolo Gabbiadini, M’baye Niang and Ciro Immobile.

The 31-year-old said he has no preference about which of the three joins the port side and says he will wait and leave the decision to the club.

He also poured scorn on reports of former team-mate Antonio Cassano moving to city rivals Genoa.

“I really don’t see it happening,” he concluded.
