Supercoppa_Italiana_logoThe Supercoppa Italiana match between Juventus and Lazio will be played in Italy on August 18th.

The exact venue, however, is still uncertain following a war of words between the two participant clubs.

“I can confirm definitively that the Supercoppa will be played in Italy and that it will be played on the 18th of August,” said Lega Calcio president Maurizio Beretta, talking to Sky Sport 24.

“No decision has been made on whether that will be played in Turin, Rome or Milan though.”

The game, held every year between the winners of Serie A and the Coppa Italia victors a week before the league restarts, is usually played abroad.

This year’s cup was scheduled to take place in Beijing, but Juventus objected and requested that the venue be either Toronto or Rome, which would be less of a disruption to the Bianconeri’s US tour.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito responded by accusing the club of wanting to play the match in their home city of Turin.

just another prove that there is a certain club that have a power to pressure lega calcio to change the venue/time; maybe they have other power too such as manipulating referee decision?
