DinoZoffItaly legend Dino Zoff has stated that Spain should not take their match against the Azzurri lightly ahead of tonight’s Confederation’s Cup semi-final match between the two countries.

Just days away from the one-year anniversary of Spain’s 4-0 demolition of Italy in the final of the 2012 UEFA European Championship, the two sides will meet again to decide who will face Brazil in the final of the tournament.

Legendary shot-stopper Zoff believes the Azzurri stand a good chance of upsetting Spain this time around

“Spain must be attentive to Italy, because they have always been able to embarrass anyone,” he told Marca.

“It is something that they have always, throughout their history, been able to demonstrate.

“What has been Spain’s key of late? Everything. They have great players, of excellent technical quality.

“Maybe Iniesta and Xavi stand out from the rest, but what makes this team great is the squad, the strength of the group.

“I hope it is not another 4-0 because that would be very sad.”

Mario Balotelli has been ruled out of the match due to injury, with Alberto Gilardino expected to be his replacement.
