Juan Fernando Quintero PortoThe agent of former Pescara midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero has revealed that his client had offers to remain in Italy, but Porto’s offer was too enticing to turn down.

The 20-year-old officially joined the Portuguese giants on Saturday after a single season with Pescara.

While Genoa, AC Milan, and Inter had been linked with a move for Quintero, his agent revealed that Porto’s offer was a chance the youngster was eager to accept.

“There was a possibility for Quintero to remain in Italy, but then Porto arrived with their offer,” Riccardo Calleri told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“We are talking about a prestigious club with lots of history, and one that plays in the Champions League and that can help him grow.”

“Along with the player, we decided to try this experience.”

Quintero made 17 appearances for the Delfini last season, scoring one goal as the club were relegated to Serie B.
