Atalanta have loaned goalkeeper Simone Colombi to Serie B club Padova for the 2013-14 season.
Padova made the signing official through the club’s website.
The 22-year-old spent the 2012-13 campaign with Modena and appeared in 36 games. The year prior to that Colombi helped Juve Stabia win promotion to Serie B.
Though Colombi will not appear in Serie A, the goalkeeper represented Italy in the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.
The Seriate native has won two caps for the Azzurrini and was, along with Nicola Leali, a backup to Inter owned youngster Francesco Bardi.
Padova finished 11th with 53 points in Serie B last season. The club were keen to sign a new shot stopper as last years number one Marco Silvestri has returned to parent club Chievo.
