Paulinho - LivornoNewly promoted Livorno has given their fans a timely boost by announcing that star striker Paulinho has signed a contract extension with the side until the summer of 2018.

With constant speculation linking the 27-year-old with a move away from the Amaranto the club can now focus on preparations for their return to Serie A action.

“The club Amaranto and Paulinho signed a new agreement that will see them remain together until June 2018.” Livorno announced on its official website.

The Brazilian had been fundamental in the club securing promotion from Serie B with 22 goals and the vital winner in the second leg of their play-off with Empoli to assure a 2-1 aggregate victory.

However, with his previous deal expiring in 2015 the man that has now scored 48 times in 148 appearances for the club was attracting interest from top Serie A sides Inter and Napoli, as well as Premier League side Tottenham.
