Cagliari lose out to Sunderland in goalkeeper race

Vito Mannone -  ArsenalCagliari appear to have missed out on landing one of their main summer targets, as Vito Mannone is set to complete his move to Premier League side Sunderland.

The former Atalanta keeper, who has been frustrated with a lack of games at Arsenal, has been interesting the Rossoblu however a deal never materialised.

Sky Sports reported that a €3.2 million fee had been agreed for the Italian stopper, thus meaning he is not likely to leave England.

With the potential departure of Michael Agazzi from the Stadio Is Arenas, Cagliari need to find a replacement and soon.

Mannone’s move is to Sunderland is to be finalised in the coming days leaving the Serie A side still searching for a replacement.

    Cannot believe that Sunderland would pay this much for a third rate goalkeeper who is prone to errors and is entering last year of his contract
