Catania are ready to bring Velez Sarsfield full-back Gino Peruzzi to Sicily after owner Antonino Pulvirenti revealed he is ready to gift the fans with a new player.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter in the past before being very close to completing a move to Sunderland earlier this summer.
However, a move to the Black Cats was thwarted after Paolo Di Canio revealed the Argentine had lingering effects from a ligament injury he suffered last season and would thus be looking at other options.
Sky Sport reports that Catania have now opened talks to bring the Cordoba native to Italy after Pulvirenti guaranteed he would gift the fans with a new signing earlier on Monday.
Peruzzi, who has been likened to Inter legend Javier Zanetti in the past, has made 34 appearances for Velez since becoming a first team member in 2010.
