Nicola Legrottaglie CataniaNicola Legrottaglie has refuted rumours linking him with a move away from Catania.

It had been suggested that the veteran centre-back might move to French side Ajaccio to work with friend and compatriot Fabrizio Ravanelli.

Speaking to Sportitalia, the former Juventus man denied the suggestion, which had been mooted in a number of media sources over the last few days.

“Ajaccio? I will not leave Catania”, he stated.

“I have a great relationship with Ravanelli, but my future is here in Catania”.

The former Italian international joined the Elefanti from AC Milan in 2011, and has gone on to make 61 appearances for the club while scoring eight goals.

Ravanelli was a youth coach at Juventus, but left the Bianconeri’s coaching staff early in the summer to become the coach of Ajaccio. However, it looks as if his attempts to lure his friend, the 36-year-old Legrottaglie, will come to nothing.
