Massimo Donati VeronaHellas Verona midfielder Massimo Donati believes the club must give their all in every match in order to succeed in Serie A this season.

The 32-year-old played in his first match for the Gialloblu this past weekend, a friendly against lower league Italian side Sudtirol in which the Gialloblu won 2-1.

Donati, who joined the Verona club from Palermo this summer, spoke about the result at a press conference after the match and praised his new squad.

“It went quite well. We did some good things and some bad,” he said.

“However, we put in loads of leg work and I think it was a good match.

“The team has welcomed me very well. They’re all great guys.

“This is an important group. You don’t win promotion from Serie B if you don’t have an important and cohesive group.”

The Mastini will be facing Feyenoord in another friendly on July 24 and the former Celtic man insists that the team will remain determined in every match.

“These tests we’re dealing with are all important regardless of the adversary in front of us.

“Whether Feyenoord or Sudtirol, it makes little difference to me. We have to face every opponent the same, with the utmost determination and full commitment.”
