Graziano Pelle - FeyenoordFeyernoord’s Italian striker Graziano Pelle has spoken of his desire to win a place in Italy’s World Cup squad in 2014.

Pelle also commented on the possibility of a return to Italy whilst stressing about how much he is enjoying his time in Holland.

Pelle scored 27 goals from 29 appearances in the Eredivisie in his first season at De Kuip, a goal scoring record that convinced the Rotterdam side to make his loan deal from Parma permanent.

In an interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport, he spoke of his ambition to make the Azzurri side for the World Cup although he acknowledged the difficulties in his way.

“There is lots of competition,” said Pelle.

“I’m thinking of Antonio Di Natale, he’s not called up even if he scores lots of goals every year.

“I must admit however that I really hope to go to Brazil next year.”

The 27-year-old also talked of a possible return to his homeland although at present his position appears to be firmly with Feyenoord.

“The Feyenoord directors have told me that it won’t be easy for them to sell me.

“At the last match I was substituted and the stadium thanked me with a standing ovation and now the fans won’t react well to me being sold.”
