Genoa keeper could return to Fiorentina

Sebastien Frey - GenoaGenoa president Enrico Preziosi has admitted that he is unsure of the future of goalkeeper Sebastien Frey after he was linked with a return to Fiorentina.

The Grifone had offered a contract extension to the 33-year-old despite his current contract running until 2016, however, with the Frenchman declining the offer talk of his departure have surfaced.

“I do not know if Frey is willing to leave.” Preziosi told Il Secolo XIX.

“If so he will also know where to go and will have to inform us.

“We do not hold anybody [against their will].”

With the relationship between club and player now tense it is reported that the Viola have already contacted the Frey’s agent to discuss a deal for him to return to Florence.

The former Inter and Parma man spent six seasons with Fiorentina between 2005 and 2011 making 175 Serie A appearances for the club.
