Javier Zanetti InterInter captain Javier Zanetti has stated that his recovery from Achilles tendon surgery is going well, though he admits he is missing being at the club’s pre-season retreat.

The 39-year-old suffered the injury in April and is progressing well in his recovery, as the Argentine is looking to rejoin his teammates as soon as possible.

“It is a bit strange not being at the pre-season retreat but I am recovering in Argentina and hope to return as soon as possible,” he told Inter Channel.

“Mazzarri? Yes, we needed to work a lot. We know that we have to return to being protagonists and we must be able to do so.

“I miss being at Pinzolo but I am following the program that Inter gave me. I see that the tendon is responding well and so I am happy.

“Next season will be more balanced and I hope that next April we will be near the top. I can only thank the fans, they have always supported us and have faith in us.”
