The Beneamata have been in talks with the La Vecchia Signora for the Chilean for some time now, and just as a deal appeared to be reached, talks over the transfer have stalled.
“There is still work to do for [Mauricio] Isla,” Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio told Sport Italia.
“As with all important transfers, a bit of time is needed.”
Although it is unclear what has stalled the negotiations the suggestion is Isla’s co-owners Udinese have complicated matters for the deal, along with Juventus coach Antonio Conte’s reluctance to let him leave until a replacement is signed.
The Nerazzurri have also been linked with moves for Feyernoord rightback Daryl Janmaat and Paris Saint-Germain’s Gregory Van der Weil as a potential option should the deal fall through.
