Italian starlet to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain are close to announcing a contract extension with sought after Italian midfielder Marco Verratti.

This news will come as a disappointment to Fiorentina and Napoli as both clubs were rumoured to be interested in signing the young maestro.

The extension will see the Italian international stay in Paris until 2018 while receive a pay increase somewhere in-between the €3 million he requested and the €2 million offered by the club according the alredopedulla.com.

Verratti’s renewal will not come as a surprise to many as the midfielder enjoyed a strong season with the Parisians, after joining from Pescara last summer.

This extension after heavy interest from Napoli, though those rumours were dispelled by Aurelio De Laurentiis on Friday.

Verratti made 27 league appearances last season for Les Rouge-et-Bleu as he helped the French side to their first Ligue 1 title since 1994.
