Novara Samir UjkaniLazio are lining up a move for Palermo goalkeeper Samir Ujkani after they received increasing interest for current reserve Albano Bizzarri from fellow Serie A sides Chievo and Genoa.

If the 35-year-old veteran were to leave the Rome club it would leave them short of alternatives for current number one Federico Marchetti therefore the Biancocelesti have already began identifying potential understudies.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport there is a distinct possibility that the 25-year-old Albania international could arrive during the summer.

Ironically Ujkani spent last season on loan at Chievo, however, he failed to make a single appearance for the Flying Donkeys, seen as nothing more than second choice to Christian Puggioni.

Bizzarri did manage five appearances for Vladimir Petkovic’s side last season, but with his career approaching its conclusion the Argentinean may desire regular first-team football before hanging up his boots.

With Genoa keeper Sebastien Frey leaving the Grifone this summer the number one position is up for grabs at the Luigi Ferraris and Bizzarri could see that as an ideal opportunity.
