Lorenzo Insigne NapoliLorenzo Insigne could be a star at Napoli next season under Rafa Benitez, according to Devis Mangia.

Insigne was guaranteed starter during Mangia’s stint as Azzurrini coach but he was not starting regularly with the Partenopei last season under Walter Mazzarri.

Mangia was interviewed on Radio CRC and he said that Insigne would thrive under a coach of Benitez’s calibre.

“Insigne, if he will be worth it, this year will find space because the coach is prepared to play talented youngsters,” said Mangia.

He continued: “Benitez? History speaks for this coach.”

Mangia has left the Azzurrini job and if he returns to club coaching, he would bring in some players from his days as Under-21s coach, including Insigne.

“I find it difficult to give names but if I had to choose a player by department, I would get [Nicola] Leali, [Luca] Caldirola, skip the midfield and I would bring Insigne and [Ciro] Immobile,” said Mangia.

22-year-old Insigne played 37 Serie A matches for Napoli last season, scoring five goals and grabbing seven assists.
