Stevan Jovetic FiorentinaFormer Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic still has the Tuscan club in his thoughts after making a dramatical exit Manchester City.

The last five years spent at the Italian club could not be forgotten so easy but now the Montenegrin is happy to be plying his trade with the Citizens.

“I haven’t finished thanking Fiorentina,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport .

“I’ll always be tied to the Della Valle family with affection and respect.

“It’s the same with Pantaleo Corvino, the sporting director who took me to Italy in 2008 and who I have to thank for where I am now.

“I also have to thank coaches Cesare Prandelli, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Delio Rossi and Vincenzo Montella – they all taught me something.

“A lot happened in five years, last summer was particularly intense, but I never, and I repeat never, spoke badly of Fiorentina.”

Jovetic was Fiorentina’s adopted son, but his relationship with the Viola was deteriorating as it almost looked like that Juventus would be his next home.

“Juventus wanted me, but that’s not my fault. They came after me, I chose City. That’s it,” continued the forward.

“I’m really happy to be at City. A top side with great ambitions. We’ll be fighting for the League and especially the Champions League. That is what convinced me.

“I want to win and I’ll need a bit of luck. The No 35 shirt that I wore at Partizan Belgrade was good for me.”
