Palermo star nearing Fiorentina switch

Fiorentina will sign Palermo playmaker Josip Ilicic according to Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini, though a deal is not official yet.

An official announcement is expected to be made in the coming days, bringing an end to one of the most talked about transfer of this summer’s transfer window.

“Ilicic is already a Fiorentina player,” Zamparini stated.

The Slovenian midfielder was wanted by number of clubs, both in Italy and abroad, but the Slovenian revealed he was only interested in remaining in the peninsula.

Ilicic was signed by Palermo in 2010 from Maribor, but the relegation of the Rosanero compelled him to find a new club.
