The 25-year-old has been targeted by many European clubs this summer, but was adamant that he wanted to stay in Italy and has chosen to sign with the Viola.
Ruznic spoke to Radio Blu about his client’s choice and admitted that the move will be complete once the two clubs come to an agreement.
“Ilicic has chosen Fiorentina and their plan,” he stated
“His choice goes beyond the economic aspect.
“Now we wait for the clubs, by means of the presidents and athletic directors, to finalise the deal.
“At this time, the player is at home and training alone. He is very calm.”
He then commented on the Slovenian’s ability to play multiple positions.
“His role? He can play anywhere from the midfield and up.”
Josip Ilicic scored 10 goals in his 31 league appearances for Palermo during the 2012-13 season. Despite his impressive efforts, the club was relegated at the end of the campaign.
