Roma have officially signed full-back Douglas Maicon from Manchester City, it has been confirmed.
The Italian club took to their official Twitter account to post a picture of the player along with the message “Welcome aboard, Maicon!” after the deal was made official.
He signs on what is believed to be a two-year deal for a fee of €3.5 million after manager Manuel Pellegrini had told the Brazilian that he would not be in his plans for the coming season.
Maicon is no stranger to Serie A fans of course having terrorised defences in the peninsula with his marauding displays on the right flank for Inter for six years before leaving for City last year.
He has already linked up with his new Giallorossi teammates at their training camp.
