Kevin Strootman answered questions from fans on Twitter this week. Those who follow Roma were able to get to know their club’s new purchase and find out what makes him the player he is.
The Dutchman told the Romanisti of how he idolised Zidane despite his style of play often drawing comparisons with more aggressive midfielders such as Mark Van Bommel and Edger Davids.
Strootman further endeared himself to his new supporters by telling them he chose to wear the number six as his squad number because of the Brazilian Roma legend Aldair: “It’s my favourite, at PSV Van Bommel wore it. With Roma, Aldair, it is an honour to inherit it.”
The central midfielder also spoke of his new club’s rivals Lazio. Stating that the derby is “the most important game of the season.”
