Gabbiadini - SampdoriaSampdoria president Edoardo Garrone is expecting good performances from Manolo Gabbiadini but fans won’t likely see any big acquisitions.

The Blucerchiati are in ritiro in Bardonecchia, Piedmonte, and despite not meeting Gabbiadini and the other new signings yet, Garrone likes their attitude and as a result Sampdoria should be a good shout in Serie A league betting to avoid relegation next season.

“Gabbiadini? I still haven’t spoken with him and the new signings, they have got into the group and there is a very good spirit,” Garrone said to Sky Sport.

“It is a very important aspect in view of the new season [and] we will give them judgement further ahead.”

The Sampdoria president expects his players to give 100 per cent this season and he tips that Gabbiadini will be a better goalscorer than Mauro Icardi and Simone Zaza.

“I expect the maximum from everybody [and] I am curious to see the performance of the new signings,” said Garrone.

“I expect that Gabbiadini will score more goals in comparison to those who didn’t want to stay at Sampdoria.”

The Blucerchiati are focusing on buying young players this summer and the president has advised fans not to expect a big signing.

“We will continue with our line [of work], investing on young talent,” Garrone continued.

“The coach [Delio] Rossi has the possibility to see if the squad is complete, if there should be the necessity to make a new acquisition we will move accordingly.

“Surprises within September 2? We will not point to great names but only players that could improve Sampdoria in perspective.”

The Trofeo Riccardo Garrone is on August 3 at the Stadio Marassi. Not only will the match against Marseille will pay tribute to Edoardo Garrone’s father, the fans will be able to see the new line-up in action.

“It is my first ritiro as president, I will go through the event dedicated to my father with emotion. It will be an important test for the squad, for the fans it is an occasion to see the new Sampdoria,” Garrone concluded.
