Lazio - Roma - Dias+ OsvaldoPremier League side Southampton have abandoned their pursuit of Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.

Nicola Cortese, the club’s chairman, has decided to pull out of negotiations, which have been ongoing for some time now with no result.

The 27-year-old had reportedly turned down a €19 million offer from the English club, even though Roma were apparently ready to accept it.

Osvaldo has also been linked to Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, with rumours claiming that the player could be leaning toward a move to Spain.

Transfer speculations regarding the striker started surfacing toward the end of the 2012-13 season, as stories of his disrespectful attitude toward Giallorossi stand-in coach Aurelio Andreazzoli became public.

These same attitude problems also saw him snubbed from Cesare Prandelli’s Italy squad for the Confederations Cup.

He signed with Roma in 2011 and was the club’s top goalscorer last season, netting 17 goals in all competitions. Out of those goals, 16 of them came in his 29 Serie A appearances for the club.
