Torino confirm midfielder arrival

Matteo Brighi TorinoTorino have confirmed that Roma midfielder Matteo Brighi has signed a one year contract with the Piedmont club.

Having spent last season on loan at the Stadio Olimpico, the 32-year-old was sent back to the Giallorossi but the two clubs have reached an agreement that will see Brighi back in a claret shirt next season.

TorinoFC.it confirmed the news that the former Italy international will be returning to the Granata having signed a one year contract with an option to extend the deal at the end of the season.

Once voted Serie A’s Young Footballer of the Year after impressing at Torino’s city rivals Juventus, Brighi has also enjoyed spells at Parma and Roma. He started his career at his hometown club of Rimini and went to make four appearances for the Azzurri and won a gold medal with Italy in the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

He made twenty three appearances for Torino for Giampiero Ventura’s side last season, scoring once in what was his third loan spell away from Roma; previously spending time at Atalanta and Chievo Verona.
